Utensils                                                   Ingredients
Quart glass jar with airtight lid             Fifth of alcohol
Mortar & pestle                                        grain alcohol is best
Funnel                                                      1 oz powdered herb

We suggest grain alcohol for this extraction because it has a higher proof than brandy.  Unless you have the ability to rectify your alcohol and bring it to a higher concentration, grain alcohol will work.  One brand name is Everclear.
Make sure your jar is clean and dry.  Also, if your herb is not of a fine powder, you will need to use the mortar and pestle.  Work the herb into a fine powder.

Spagyric preparations use a process of separation and recombination. The instructions will show you how to separate the soul of the herb (oil) from the body of the herb. The body is then purified and the soul is placed back with the body and the result is a potent elixir.

A Simple Method

The process we are giving at this site is a very simple work.  It is given in order that anyone working in a small area and with limited resources will be able to achieve success.  Experimenting with this process will give one experience in handling the herbs and an understanding of the separation process.
